Chilean Edurado Vargas Could Miss 2015 Copa America

Bad news for the fans of Copa America 2015 hosts as the Chilean forward Edurado Vargas injured himself during match against West Brom Albion. Queen Park Rangers have announced that Vargas has suffered a medical collateral ligament injury which could force him not to play the upcoming Copa America 2015. He played a vital role during last World Cup in Brazil, but home fans could miss him this time.

Queen Park Rangers have mentioned on their official website that “Scans have since revealed Vargas sustained a grade two medial collateral ligament injury, which is likely to keep him sidelined until the end of the season.”

Against Iran, Vargas played the whole game that went 2-0 victory for his national side. Against Brazil, he was called out for substitution in friendly game against Brazil at Emirates’s stadium.

His coach Chris Ramsey said “He got his studs caught in the turf and went down on his knee very awkwardly. He tried to stay on, which showed me what he’s all about, but he had to come off.”

Edurado Vargas was involved in recently played international friendlies. He was signed by the British club QPR from Napoli on loan in the month of August 2014. So far in this season of Queen Park Rangers, Vargas scored three goals in Premier League which seems like he have chance of adding more goals due to his injury.

He is the third QPR player to sustain a medial collateral ligament injury since the turn of the year, following recent injuries to defender Richard Dunne and midfielder Leroy Fer.

Copa America 2015 is set to begin on 11th June in Chile. Host national will kick off the tournament against Ecuador, but there are negligible chances of Vargas to make appearance. He need miracle recovery to play in front of home crowd.
